Ugh, screw you royal wedding. Now I want to be a princess. Actually, I don't. I would probably die if I had to walk the aisle in front of all those people.

But I was reading an article on the wedding cakes and OMG now I wan't cake. Or brownies.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm brownies

I am super giddy and excited because my Kindle arrived today! (Well, it arrived at my mom's place like a month ago, but she finally had the courage to stick in an envelope and send it my way). It's AWESOME. I mean, it's no iPad or smart phone, but I can't wait to finally read all the books in my To Read pile without having to lug them around and worsen my back problems. (I mean, seriously, The Stand? House of Leaves? We need to talk re: length and weight of paperbacks.)

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's day and I am so going out to celebrate! It's also my anniversary at work. That's right, a year ago to the day (tomorrow) I started training here at my shiny new job. It went by fast and pretty enjoyable. I made new friends, I moved up in the tax brackett and all in all improved my quality of life in one year. That's impressive. I think.

Anyway, life is good. I thought I should record this moment.

So, I actually found this via [livejournal.com profile] humantarget_tv but I thought I should spread the word.

This young lady is having her house foreclosed and she is selling all her DVDs (movies and TV shows) to raise some money. She has an impressive collection and she's selling them really cheap. I wanted Frascape but it's gone and I really can't go spending on DVDs, which sucks (I would have splurged for Farscape though. Go ahead, JUDGE ME. It was EPIC.)

Anyways, you should check it out, maybe get a cheap DVD and help someone out in the process. Think of the doggies, their stories broke my heart ;_;

There's also a fan auction (fics, vids, etc):

I'm working on redecorating my patio as I'm already quite happy with the inside of my apartment (for now). I have no budget, but I'll have to make do and be thrifty. y first move was not very thrifty, though: I bought this gorgeous set of patio furniture.

I saw it at the store yesterday and I fell in love with it -it has the feel of being in a tiny bistro sitting outside, drinking an espresso. I don't know, it's pretty! I'm writing on my netbook sitting on one of those chairs right now, and I am super happy.

This afternoon I covered over all the cracks and dents on the walls and I plan on painting soon. I just want to make it feel more like a little nook where you can sit comfortably and read or write, instead of a barren, white walled outside area that all my neighbours can peek out at.

Anyway, today is podcast night but I'm looking forward to having dinner outside on the many summer nights that are coming very very soon. Bliss!

So, here I am trying out my new Dell netbook. And I already love it <3 I've always wanted a portable computer, to do such useless things like this: blog in bed. Well, it's worth every penny, and the wait. I'm not going to stop using my desktop, especially for gaming and stuff, but this is bliss xD

Anyway, work is great, I'm still super excited about it.

I hope to get back on the internet activities again, and I already started a little last weekend. I just wish someone was online to chat now :/

It's totally freezing here so I should try to hide under the covers and sleep a little I guess.
puina: (BSG)
I didn't make it, no.

Also I watched "Tigh me up, Tigh me down" (episode 9 S1) last night and I was laughing like crazy. But episode 10 is filler which was disappointing.

And now I have to watch Human Target, ok? But I also need to work and it is a sad day.

omg

I just applied for THE job. *crosses fingers* I'm FREAKING OUT!
puina: (Default)
Fine, I lied, here's a picture. I'm so bored right now.

Back: a book about the Roman Empire, my board that fell down (House MD comic, Con ticket and stub that I won my gift voucher with, bunny I drew, hidden drawing, etc)

Front & middle: [livejournal.com profile] serena_took  's card, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Cien Años de Soledad, old ceramic Asian figure, Rorschach pose dummy, vintage fabric bag of flour that I framed, [livejournal.com profile] miss_bushido  's green little buddy (xmas present) sitting on the box of one of [livejournal.com profile] wikiwikiwick  's gifts. Mystery box with stuff that's needed next to bed.

Yes, that's how my shelf looks all the time. Or at least since around Christmas this year xD

Hey fellow lj friends. Do you have Wishlists? I have had a couple but never posted links to them anywhere (or emailed it, that seems like a dickish move), I use them to keep track of stuff I want to buy. Like an "ideal shopping cart" if you will.

Have you ever had something bought for you from a Wishlist? Were you surprised? Was it awesome?

Also, feel free to pimp out any wishlists you have. What? I'm bored and like to see interesting crap people want to/will buy.

I had thought of making this a community post at [info]wptjeh , but we have very few members, and no one ever posts/comments. Do you think it would be a nice idea? Maybe someone will get generous and buy stuff for fellow fans. (I know there's a gift exchange going on in Twitter. Maybe that would be better? But the thing about Wishlists is you don't have to hand out your personal info.) Thoughts??
puina: (Default)
Fuck my diet. I'm going to eat left over pizza washed down with coke for breakfast as I back up everything in my formerly defunct hard drive. That's right: IT'S ALIVE!! Zombie hard drive FTW!

This must be what happiness feels like.

LMAO my lj now looks like a completely detailed log of my descent into madness. At least it's entertaining...

Kinda bored

I think I might do NaNoWriMo this year (again). I have a very cracky story that I know I would have fun writing, and I will never do it unless I get into something like this. Yes, I am NOT a writer, I am aware of this.

I had fun last year but my story wasn't nearly as cracky, so I'm really looking forward to this insanity.

I have also decided to go back to school next year. I have no idea what I want to study -something free and fun.

What is everyone else up to?

Yo!

Just a post to go between all the friends locking.

Is there anybody out there reading this who isn't on my f-list? LOL I bet there isn't. But the title looks prettier without the padlock.

I am editing the podcast as I type this. It's awesome, as usual, but I really can't wait for next episodes. We have so much cool stuff planned. 8D

On a personal note, I am spent. Exhausted. And still in a foul mood, although it's less caustic than it was on Saturday. I apologize again PodSchachs. Thanks for cheering me up. :) And today, too.

I love all you Shorties, and wptJEH, and Twitter, and Stick- with his "prison hugs" and morbid phobia of curly fries, and his need for "hetero hugs" and an unmarked bike. May you find the latter two of those wherever you are now. (Oh God, that sounded like a memorial, why did I just basically kill him? o.0)

ETA: Dude, Stick memorial thread? ;_; Snorting broccoli in heaven.

puina: (Default)
I've been neglecting my LJ, I'm sorry. I know you don't care anyway so that's a plus.

Got the podcast done in record time and re did the whole website. That's right, WPTJEH.com, tell your friends. Episode 3 is now up and it's awesome.

Not much else to report, have worked and I seem to be developing a nasty cough. I started reading Shutter Island and I'm already loving it. I have to read it before bed, so when it's not Skype keeping me up it's reading. I'm tired! But very entertained.

Saturday is awesome! Why? Because my Watchmen DVD arrived. Rejoice!

Twitter seems to be working for now, thank God! I am dependent on it, I admit it. It's the only way I can stay in touch with the awesome ladies in Team ShortSchach during the day. I work from home, without my internet it gets really quiet. I think of it as cubicle chatter. You do that at work and interact with people, I can only talk to my dogs for so long without feeling crazy.

Anyway, while Twitter was down I cleaned out my closet (not a bad thing) and I decided to try on some clothes I haven't worn in a long time. I was so excited to find out I still fit into this t-shirt! )

Ok, I should really try and get some work done before the Watchmen live chat tonight. But there's a new idea for a comic strip that just came up on Twitter and that's pulling at me so hard. No. Must work. At least for a while. This headache doesn't help my case. Serves me right for going to the late showing of The Proposal, which sucked big time, and then getting up early today to get my DVD. The DVD was worth it, The Proposal not so much.

Another start of the week another podcast episode posted. We had 103 plays on the first episode (well, the ones at the site that keeps track of that) and the second one a little less, but again, the streaming is working on wptjeh.com and that doesn't track plays. :( But I loathe the way the other site looks, so I'm not sure what to do about that. People are loving it, though. Those who comment, anyway. Now I start to get all the rage on low comments for fics. It's nice to see some reactions.

Anyway, if you're bored, here's a little macro I modified for the enjoyment of JEH/Rorschach fans.

REDHEADS! What was I saying? )

Wow, I slept way too much. Was up too late with the podcast, which I don't mind at all because I just have way too much fun with those girls! So I woke up with a headache but that was swiftly taken care of with a little coffee and A LOT of staring at this gif:

It's safe to say I love [livejournal.com profile] wikiwikiwick  forever.

I. Just. AAARMSS.

Ok, enough of that. (For now) Got podcasts to edit and other stuff to do. Too bad I didn't get to do the interview, but I guess we can do it some other time. And with 3 hours to turn into half an hour, I think we're covered with the week's topic... whatever that is XD

We still have to do a lot more live movie chats. Maniac Cop 3 was hilarious, I think we really should repeat that, and I'm sure it's going to become my favorite bad movie of all time (sorry Tremors!) I love it, it's like a support group, and we'll need that for The Zoo Gang. Oooh, I'm dreading that one.

I really liked making the little Rorschach comic strip, I might make a few more of those. I don't know if anyone would be interested, but maybe it will then make me try to practice actual drawing, which I haven't done in years. Should be fun. :)
puina: (BAGQMF)
Word of advice, even if you are clowning around and having a blast, if you have a sore throat it's not a good idea to try and say things Rorschach style.

I had so much fun last night on Skype! I didn't think it was possible. I don't even care that the Director's Cut DVD doesn't have any commentary any more because ours was full of win. And when the tweets started coming in of people getting hugged and shit signed by Jackie we were like "Oh that's cool! Anyway, I love this next scene.." I think our little support group style chat helped prevent some murders last night XD Or at least some destruction of property out of pure rage.(BTW, it's none of my business, but I was so happy and "D'aww" to hear that his wife was there. I have a feeling she's probably an awesome lady.) And I love Team Short!Schach so hard, you don't make me feel self conscious and I love talking to you. I'm sure I'll start talking more as time goes by.

I should try to work today, I'll see how the day goes. At the moment, the thing that's calling out to me more is installing Fallout 3 again and playing for a loooong looooong time.

ETA: I didn't know James Franco was so awesome. )

I feel like someone kicked my ass and made me eat sandpaper to top it off. Really, I know it's been crazy cold but it doesn't make sense. Although sleeping three hours last night didn't help. But, I don't even care because last night was so awesome and I think I love Skype even if it kept kicking people off.

I got, the weirdest, creepiest cell phone call last night. Some guy kept saying he was cleaning out his address book and found my number, and he wanted to know who I was. And I kept asking him "I don't know you, where did you get my number from?" and he said he didn't know. And after a while he was all "Why don't you just tell me your name and your age and where you're from and I'll see if it's what I like". D: So I told him he was being a creep and that I was hanging up on him. o.0 Why me? I was a little scared, I'm not gonna lie.

Anyway, Team Short!schach, everything is coming along great. I'm doing some heavy editing because of the technical difficulties, but I'm going to at least send you a rough copy very soon. :D I <3 YOU GIRLS SO HARD. YOU ARE TEH AWESOME.
